Security and Privacy

This tab allows you to configure security settings like password protection for exported reports and archives, as well as statistics gathering.

Privacy settings

Enable password protection for: Create a custom password that satisfies the password policy rules specified below to protect the ADSelfService Plus scheduled and exported reports, as well as database backup files.

The password must satisfy the following requirements:
- Must contain at least 1upper case character.
- Must contain at least 1 lower case character.
- Number of numerals to include: 1. (or) Must contain at least 1 number.
- Maximum length should not exceed 16 characters.
- Must not be a palindrome.
- Must not contain any unicode characters.
- Minimum length should be at least 8 characters.
- Number of special characters to include: 2. (or) Must include 2 special characters.
- Must not repeat any character more than 2 times consecutively.
Note:
- By default, the password for the database backup (ZIP) files will be the reverse of the filename. Setting a new password here will overwrite the default password of the backup (ZIP) file.
- Native File Explorer (formerly Windows Explorer) cannot open password-protected exported reports and database backup files. For compatibility with File Explorer unzipping, please reach out to support@adselfserviceplus.com.
