Site-Based DC Updater

The Site-Based DC Updater ensures the changes made by end-users through password self-service activities are updated in Active Directory without any delay. To use the feature, you assign a particular set of Domain Controllers (DCs) to an OU. When a user from that OU resets their password or unlocks their account, the data is quickly updated in the DCs assigned to that OU, in the same order, as configured under Site-Based DC Updater settings.

Configuring Site-Based DC Updater:

  1. Navigate to Admin tab → Product Settings → Site-Based DC Updater.
  2. Select a domain from the drop-down menu. You will see a list of OUs and DCs belonging to that domain.
  3. Select an OU to see the list of DCs that are assigned to that OU.
  4. Click Select More DCs to add or remove DCs from the list
  5. Click the up or down arrow buttons at the top right corner to choose the order in which the DCs will be updated. The first DC in the list will be updated first.
  6. Select Inherit to Child OUs to apply the settings of parent OUs to child OUs.
  7. Click Save.

Note: When enabling the Override policy-based DC updater checkbox provides the domain controllers selected here priority over the domain controllers selected using the Update Reset Passwords and Account Unlock status on specific Domain Controller option. This checkbox must be enabled if the Update Reset Passwords and Account Unlock status on specific Domain Controller option has been selected already.
